work, showing the amount contributed from the "Special

Light Dues", and the amount from current Revenue or

Colonial Reserves. In future years a statement of this

account will appear as an appendix to the Estimates.

(e). Reclaration, Yamati: $40,000.

It is

desirable to reclaim the area in front of Kowloon Marine

Lots 29, 30 and 31 for a great part of it is taken up by

a rocky shoal and owing to the dumping of rubbish which

has been going on for years past the area of water capahle

of floating small craft has become very much restricted.

But as the owners have marine-right of frontage the

necessary powers for the Government to do this will be

obtained in the Bill for the Hongkoktsul Breakwater now

passed the Committee stage in the Legislative Council.

Owners are required therein to send in any claims in

respect of this area before 30th. November next and already

some of the section lot-holders have done so.

This scheme will not be included

in the Breakwater Contract for the new Refuge, and it is

proposed to carry it out independently. The cost which it

was deemed advisable not to state in the Estimates or to

specify in any paper will be about $90,000 of which

$40,000
